Chimanimani Rural District Council is proud to highlight the significant progress on the construction of a vital 1×2 classroom block at Nemaramba Primary School. The community-driven project was initiated in March 2023 to address a critical shortage of learning spaces affecting learners. Faced with the shortage of classrooms, the School Development Committee (Mr Ephraim Muremeri, Panganai Mkwishu, and Tapiwa Matyukira) and local traditional leadership successfully engaged parents and mobilised resources from the outset.
Parents have contributed significantly towards the project by providing locally available material such as bricks, river sand, concrete stones, water, and labour for the classroom block foundation. The project also got support from the former MP Hon. Matsikenyere (2018 – 2026) under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in the form of cement, window frames, and door frames. Following a brief stall, the community is now working on beam filling and plastering with a few bags of cement available. This year, 2026, the current MP Hon. W. Maposa secured essential materials, including iron sheets and roofing nails, to complete the structure.
Upon completion, this classroom block will directly provide a safe learning environment for the young learners at Nemaramba Primary School. This initiative contributes directly to the National Development Strategy as we move toward Vision 2030.
